The availability of affordable drones with HD cameras has been one of the most important filmmaking innovations in the past years. But with different drones coming into the market, it may be a challenge to know which one deserves your attention.

Not to mention there are different things you have to consider, such as the flight time, range, camera quality, and video quality. If what you’re looking for is a consumer drone for filmmaking, then one of our favorites would be the DJI Mavic Pro Platinum

The Mavic Pro Platinum is a great choice for YouTubers, aerial videographers, and recreational flyers in general. With impressive specifications and foldable design, it’s hard not to like this unmanned aerial vehicle.

If you want to know more about the DJI Mavic Pro Platinum, keep on reading. UVS-Info.com provides you this in-depth review in DJI’s Mavic Pro series.

TLDR: DJI Mavic Pro Platinum Review

Product Description

To kick off our review of the DJI Mavic Pro Platinum, we’ll begin with its appearance. It is available in a chick platinum color and a compact body that is both alluring and powerful.

An improved 30-flight time is also something you’d look forward to in this drone model. Coupled with this feature is the 60% reduction that makes this Mavic Pro model one of the best portable drones in the market yet.

But, how far can the DJI Mavic Pro Platinum fly, you might ask. Well, its maximum total travel distance in one full battery is 9.3 mi or 15km, ensuring you a great flying experience. It can also remain in the air for half an hour and when set in sport mode, it has a maximum speed of 64km/h or 40mph.

In terms of its decibel level, it applies the Field Oriented Control (FOC) tech and 8331 noise reduction propellers. All these help decrease the decibel level of the Mavic Pro Platinum. This is great since many people, including non-drone pilots, find the buzzing sound of drones annoying.

Compared to other Mavic Pro models, the Platinum flies relatively quiet because its noise is 60% lower.

Another great feature of this DJI model is that its operating efficiency has been increased. Thanks to DJI Mavic Pro Platinum’s improved propulsion system.

Is the DJI Mavic Pro Platinum Worth It?

This Mavic Pro is worth it in many aspects and is one of the best drones you can buy. We especially like its downward-facing sensors. This vision positioning system prevents low-altitude crashes.

Furthermore, it helps the Mavic Pro hover when used without GPS or flying flow. Its 3-axis gimbal-mounted camera captures 4K video and 12MP images. And when you’re done flying this drone, it can be folded so it fits easily into your DJI bag or DJI backpack.

Quality and Durability

The rotor arms of this DJI model are sturdy and foldable. There’s also a plastic cover in the front of this drone for added protection to the camera, especially during flight.

In terms of its battery, it is removable and has LED indicators to let you know how charged the unit is. And even if the battery is no longer in the drone, the LED lights still work. Amazing, isn’t it?

Additional Features

Another noteworthy feature of this drone is Obstacle Avoidance. When encountering an obstacle in front of it, it can automatically hover to avoid any accident.

The additional Downward Vision system of Pro Platinum likewise allows the aircraft to hover accurately in remote places without GPS signal or indoors. What is important is that there is sufficient lighting or there are visible clear patterns that the drone can detect.

Warranty

To offer comprehensive protection for all DJI products, the technology company offers DJI Care Refresh (1-year plan or 2-year plan) that includes up to 2 replacements for 1 or 2 years, depending on the plan you availed upon purchase.
